Description: This plate originates from: 'Der Ornamenten Schatz. Ein Musterbuch stilvoller Ornamente aus allen Kunstepochen.' (The Treasury of Ornament: Pattern in the Decorative Arts.), by H. Dolmetsch, published in Stuttgart, Germany by Julius Hoffman, in several editions between 1887-1913. English, American and French editions were published as well. A famous German ornament book. We do not know exactly from which (German) edition this plate originates.
Artists and Engravers: Author: Heinrich Dolmetsch (1846-1908) was a German Architect, particularly active in Church building and renovation in SW Germany. The lithographers for this series are H. Kolb and H. Dolmetsch.
