Description: This original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Huishoudelyk Woordboek [...]' by M. Noel Chomel, published in Leyden and Amsterdam by S. Luchtmans & H. Uytwerf in 1743. This is a first Dutch edition. The work also appeared in French in 1709, 1718 and 1767 and was even reworked in Japanese. This work covers all aspects of managing a country estate.
Artists and Engravers: The author of this work is Noel Chomel (1633-1712) is a famous French agriculturist and encyclopedia maker, much insprired by the Enlightment period in history. In this Dutch edition the plates are engraved by Frans de Bakker (active from 1736–1765).

Condition: Excellent. Original fold lines as issued. Some small stains in right margin and print. General age related toning and occasional light staining from handling as visible on image. Please study scan carefully.

Medium: Copperplate engraving on verge type hand laid paper with watermark, which is not present in all sheets.
