City Pop Sumiko Yamagata SUMMER SHADE CD
Paper Sleeve 2007 Limited Edition

Description

She sings a lot of songs about love, and is especially popular with female fans.
In 1973, she made her debut with her self-composed song "Kaze ni Fukareiteikou".
In her early days, she was in the limelight with her own folk style,
and was active as a college folk idol and a pure female folk singer-songwriter representing the 70's.
From the mid-1970s, he shifted to city pop and new music,
and was active in the theme songs "Niji ni Naritai" and "Mori e Oide"
for the anime "Minami no Niji no Lucy" and numerous commercial songs.
Mrs. Akira Inoue, an arranger, producer and keyboardist.
Yamagata Sumiko's 1976 release, which is still very popular with her clear crystal voice,
is the sophisticated soft rock album "SUMMER SHADE" that reached her 6th in total.

It is the first work oriented towards the city pop route incorporating the essence of ragtime and jazz.
Includes popular songs such as J Bossa's hidden masterpiece
"In the Summer Light" and the old-timey ragtime tune "Kohaku no Swing"
in which Maria Mulder appears in the lyrics.
Toshiyuki Watanabe, Chuei Yoshikawa, and Hiro Yanagita are appointed as writers.
This work is a novel and pop approach that completely wipes out the image of a neat and clean folk singer,
and it is a work in which she, who was 19 years old at the time,
changed her image from a girl to an adult.
This CD was reissued in 2007 with the latest digital remastering and paper Sleeve limited Edition.
