antique Angelica Kauffman porcelain display plate with black borders ancient Roman scenes

with the design of three sheppherds giving council. Of circular design with piano black surrounding rim , the plates were designed as wall hangings and have a suspension wire at the back. This one is numbered on the back in gold  numerals  292 and have an impressed porcelain mark .

After the ancient Roman wall paintings found at archaeological excavations in Pompeii and Herculanium

Each plate with glazed piano black rim.  

Very good condition.

 

Most likely Austrian turn of the century circa 1900's .
