~*~ Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram, we are @textiletrunk ~*~

Wonderful and so soft- this antique blouse dates to some point between 1900-120, it can be hard to narrow it down. It is a heavyweight either flannel or brushed cotton fabric. Very warm and very soft! The ground is a lovely faded robin's egg blue ton with royal blue stripes and matching corduroy trim along the edges and collar as well as corduroy buttons. The shirt snaps closed with a cinched waist and a hook and eye closure at the waist only. It is a very heavy material- I imagine it would be quite warm. It is smooth and soft to the touch! The sleeves are 3/4 sleeves with a long cuff. The waist cinches in creating a lovely silhouette and there are pleats down the back. There is a tie on the inside of this textile for extra fastening security. The collar is a wraparound which almost creates a turtleneck like affect when fastened. I believe this textile was stitched by both machine and hand! An absolutely gorgeous piece! Lovely for hanging as a decorative textile or for wearing!

MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approximately:
Chest: 18 inches laid flat, 36 inches around
Waist: 12 inches laid flat, 24 inches around
Shoulder to shoulder: 13 inches
Sleeves: 17 inches from underarm seam to cuff
Length: 17 inches

CONDITION: This piece is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are some brown age marks on the front as pictured. Some of the blue from the corduroy has bled into the fabric causing more color saturation in some areas as opposed to others. The snaps and hook and eye are beginning to rust but still work, although some of them are missing one component- either the hook or eye. This doesn't prevent it from still fastening as the majority are there! Generally lovely condition indeed but not without signs of time and use often inherent in these pieces!
