How to Measure Your Chainsaw Chain:
Remove the saw chain from your saw and count the number of drive links, these are the shark fin shape "teeth" that run in the groove of the guide bar and not the cutting teeth that sit on top.
Chain Pitch is the size of the chain, and is defined as the distance between any three consecutive rivets divided by two.
As a guide your measurement should equal one of the below
6.35mm = 1/4"
8.25mm = .325"
9.32mm = 3/8"
Chain Gauge is the thickness of the drive link.
As a guide your measurement should equal one of the below
1.1mm = .043"
1.3mm = .050"
1.5mm = .058"
1.6mm = .063"
