This small and rectangular BMW "M" wheel emblem was originally designed to fit the small rectangle near the center of BMW Motorsport wheels. You'll find them on most "Motorsport" wheels, like that of those on the E36 M3, E39 M5, E46 330i ZHP, E46 M3, E60 M5, F8X M2/M3/M4/M5/M6, M Sport package wheels for non-M cars.

Some aftermarket wheel companies have cast this small rectangle into their wheels to allow the M decal to be installed for a factory look, including replicas of factory wheels, D-force's M-Power wheel line, among others.
