Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Philips Galle' after 'Maerten van Heemskerck'. Philip (or Philips) Galle (Haarlem 1537 - Antwerp 1612) was a publisher, engraver and designer. He was active in Antwerp. Maarten van Heemskerck (1498-1574) was a Dutch portrait and religious painter who spent much of his live in Haarlem. He was heavily influenced by a trip to Italy.
