THE MARBLE FAUN or THE ROMANCE OF MONTE BENI, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, 2 volumes complete..... ..Published by Houghton, Mifflin and Co. - the only date given is 1860, but I think the set is more recent, maybe the late 1800s............ DESCRIPTION - Each book is bound with a 3/4 leather cover, with the pages tipped in gold, and with marbled endpapers........Mercy!!!!... Purty small books, each one measures about 6 inches high and about 4 1/2 inches across the front…….. CONDITION - The set is in good condition........The pages are good, with the edges dulled, and with one of the front endpapers frayed on the edges......And the pages have what I would call a fairly light old book scent.. .......The covers have some wear, and with the back hinge of one volume torn from top to bottom, so do handle it with care .......This is a purty good ol' set, but again, do handle it with care.....I'm bettin' that you'll be pleased with it.. ... **************************
