Description: Originally published ca. 1766. This ed. published by F.W. Greebe in Amsterdam. Probably published as a small collection of prints, bound in a wrapper held together by a cord. Very rare.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'W. Writs' after 'J. de Beijer'. Willem Writs (1731-1786; active in Amsterdam 1760-1786) was a Dutch watch maker and engineer but also a draughtsman and etcher of architecture and landscapes. Jan de Beijer (1703 - 1780), also given as Jan de Beyer, was a Dutch draughtsman and painter known for this drawings of towns and buildings in the present-day countries of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In total, he produced some 1500 drawings, over 600 of which were reproduced as engravings by other artists.
