Description: No. 128 from a series, published c. 1750. Probably sold as part of a collection of prints held together by a wrapper and a string.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'I.G. Hertel' after 'Francois Boucher'. Johann Georg Hertel, the younger (1719-1768) was a German engraver/printmaker and publisher working in Augsburg. He wsas the son of the engraver Johann Georg Hertel, the elder (1704-1783) and brother of Georg Leopold Hertel (1740-1778). Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a French painter, a proponent of Rococo taste, known for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories representing the arts or pastoral occupations, intended as a sort of two-dimensional furniture. He was perhaps the most celebrated decorative artist of the 18th century.

Condition: Good, given age. Original untrimmed sheet. Image very good. Some browning and thumbing at paper edges. 2 Small holes from binding in left margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
