Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jacob Houbraken' after 'Jean Etienne Liotard'. Jakob Houbraken (1698-1780) was a very productive Dutch 18th. Century engraver, who produced a great number of book-illustrations in the taste of the time. He also engraved many portraits and some prints after contemporary masters. Jean-Etienne Liotard (1702-1789) was a Swiss-French painter, art connoisseur and dealer.
