tailor to Bing Crosby and much of the UK entertainment business in the
forties and fifties.
This listing is for a Tuxedo jacket
The internal tag is marked Lesley and Roberts Hanover Square London
with a model No. 5372 and 5 38 (I'm assuming Model and date mark May 1938?)
There is no material tag- I am guessing it is wool (as it is heavy) with a Gross-grain Peak style Lapel.
Left welt Pocket and Six Buttons
Fully Lined
One internal pocket right side
The sleeves have been shortened, so the cuff buttons are folded on the inside folded in 3".
There is no size tag so please check the measurements I
am providing.
Measurements are approx. and were taken while garment was laying flat across front or back:
Chest (underarm to underarm 20"): 40”
Sleeves: 23” (26" if the sleeve is let out)
Shoulders: 18”
Back: 16"
Waist: 34” (approximate because it doesn’t button)
Length from top of shoulders to end of tail: 48”
Excellent vintage condition. There are a few moth holes on the back near the neck collar, but they are not noticable. No other rips, tears or stains are present
