Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal.
Vintage silver trophy that was awarded as the first place award for a 60 Mile race. No one in the estate could identify the exact sport, however, cycling seems to be the most logical.
A loving cup is mounted on a wooden pedestal. The plaque reads, "S. I. M., 1st Primo, 60 Miles, 3-6-61".
Both the presentation plaque and the loving cup are hallmarked.
Portuguese silver has a purity of 870.
The overall height, including the mount is 7 inches.
It has survived in good order. Previously displayed, no dents, damaging scratches, breaks in the wood or loose components detected.
