Material: Mulberry handmade paper

Design: Usually in the villages, two to five families comprising the local healers or astrologers owned manuscripts. Stab-stitched Burmese manuscript. Handmade paper. With a loop so it could be hung up on a wall. Each page is double-sided and each page of text is filled with, hand-written Shan script in black ink. Leaves (bi-folios) are folded in half. Manuscript consists of bi-folios folded on side edges that are sewn at the top.

Condition: Professionally restored. Manuscript is in worn condition with evidence of aging and storing, original flaws in the paper. Damage due to insects and rodents. Please, see photos
