Since 1989, I have made numerous trips to diverse parts of Brazil, Researching, Collecting and Photographing Brazil and its Architecture for a Ph.D in Art History, completed in 2000 at the University of Missouri.

An Authetic Antique Map: Not a Modern Reproduction

Description: It is an authentic engraved map on paper approximately 165 years old. As stated on the map in the bottom margin it was engraved by Franz Biller. It is being sold as a loose map, not mounted, matted nor framed, as seen in the main pic photographed against a dark backgroung. A very interesting map showing Bolivia with a coast, Patagonia and Terra del Fuego as separate entities and Ecudor, New Granada and Venezuela as part of a greater Colombia, Argentina as La Plata and other anomalies.Size: The map image between the neat lines measures approximately 8 by 10 inches (20x25cm) on a 9 1/2 by 11 1/2" (24x29cm) page with a margin all around for matting.
Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age, blank on reverse with two folds as issued, basically as seen in the pics. There is a hint of light backprinting that gives the map a richer antique quality that would frame up nicely. Overall, it is very clean, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
