Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram, we are @textiletrunk ~*~*~

This lovely sailor's shirt is American and I believe it dates from the early 1900s or perhaps around WWI. It is a wonderfully lightweight pure cotton with a twill weave. I'm not sure what the one red stripe indicates ? I know it has a meaning, just not sure what! ~~and would make a great worn shirt! There also appears to be a name signed in red but it has become too faint over time for me to read! Amazing piece for study, design inspiration, or wear!
