The Franklin Library Collection is known for lovely reprinted classics; these books all have FULL LEATHER bindings with raised bands on spine. According to the publisher, stamping on spine and covers are 22 k gold.  Pages are gold gilded on all three open sides.  A silk marker ribbon is included.  Pastedowns and free end papers are silk moiré.  Pages are sewn, not glued.

This particular series, 100 Great Masterpieces of American Literature, was published as a limited edition collection of books under the auspices of The American Revolution Bicentennial Administration.

In general, all book covers are clean and bright, with no bumped corners.  Leather cover is unmarried. Bindings are tight as books were unread.  Hinges and joints are intact. Pages tanned due to age.  No pages torn or creased; no writing, highlighting, annotations or marks of any kind in book.

As you would expect with a leather binding, there are no dust jackets.

Shelf supports that came with books are not available.

These item’s are from my late mother’s collection, which passed to my sister.  My sister has finally decided it is time for someone else to enjoy the beauty. As for me…I was absolutely forbidden to touch these.  So I hauled my 8th grade self to the local library, and got lost in the stories.  I hope you enjoy the beautiful binding and the classic works of some of America’s finest authors.

PS:  AI did NOT write this!!!  :-)
