M.L. Owens Seagrove NC pottery signed pitcher.  This redware pottery pitcher/jug was handmade by M.L. Owens in Seagrove NC,  features a salt glaze with blue flowers, and comes with the artist's card.  It is signed on the bottom, measures 9.5" tall x 6" in diameter x 7" wide with handle, and is very heavy - weighing almost 4 lbs.  The pitcher is in excellent handmade condition with no chips or cracks. Brief bio - M.L. Owens (Melvin Lee) died in 2003.  He was a potter who turned clay into bowls and vases, his favorite being red clay.  In 2000, he was given the NC Folk Heritage Award for more than seven decades of pottery making.
