Our Spirit Sash Paint Brush is  manufactured with hard wood birch timber from sustainable forests. Timber is cut into planks of the intended handle thickness and is then weathered over months. Once this process is done, it is then kiln dried in our ovens to reduce humidity and to stabilize the wood. The planks are then cut to size and shaped before being smoothed and polished with matt wax . This wax seals the handle to ensure no further movement ( expansion/shrinkage) over the lifetime of the brush. Our handles will not warp or bend.

Our angle sash brushes are made with long fibers pushed up at an angle to allow for smooth release into corners and edges with precision. They have long handles to give a good balance.

Brush heads are made by hand and combed up to ensure straightness before gluing.  The gluing process is always done with absolute precision and total care as it is vital to the performance and life of a brush. At Pioneer all of our gluing is done in temperature controlled rooms ensuring stability. We epoxy all brush heads over the stainless steel ferrule ribs using it as a lock that is then locked again during assembly by nailing or immersing a second coat of resin over a lock in the handle.

Once the heads have been glued and the resin is properly set, they are then cleaned out with brush filaments being sanded, carded and flagged as the final step prior to steaming to shape, which ensures that the brush will maintain a tapered profile for precision painting throughout its lifetime.

The Spirit Sash Paint Brush is available in 1 ½”, 2”, 2 ½”, 3”.
