One
of the major contributions to the success of Operation "Overlord" in
1944 was the extensive Allied bombing of the German Army's supply system
in Northern France and Belgium. Point Blank and Beyond is a detailed
account of the part played by bombers of the Royal Air Force and the 8th
U.S. Army Air Force in this controversial campaign, known as the
"Transportation Plan." During the preparation of his book, the author
interviewed many former aircrew and French civilians, including
resistance members. They have provided much valuable information on this
largely unrecorded aspect of World War II. (From Amazon.com)
