Collectable Creative style Kokeshi

This unusual Dark wood Kokeshi features a Japanese Poem carved into the front. Maker's Hanko Mark or Signature on the base. Measures 18cm tall. In good solid condition. Some minor scratches or marks.  Please click on the photos for a close-up.

Kokeshi are Japanese dolls, originally from northern Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. One characteristic of kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs.
