A fabulous QUALITY art glass figure of a DACHSHUND.
SIGNED on the base by the famous MURANO GLASS ARTIST:
Livio Seguso. (Born 1930, Murano, Italy) Brother of Archemide Seguso.

STYLISH, DRAMATIC MODERN design created in the 'massello' technique where large, solid blobs of glass are combined to give a solid structure of glass rather than the hollow 'blown glass' technique. It was a technique he mastered while an apprentice with Alfredo Barbarini.

Decorated within the glass with 'aventurine' (gold speckles) and the 'sommerso' technique with colours that bleed from a rich golden amber to crystal-clear transparency atop an intense black coloured base.

EXCELLENT vintage condition.
NO CHIPS; NO CRACKS; NO REPAIRS; NO CRIZZLING; NO FOG.
Only scratches from shelf life (as expected) to the base.

Judging by the signature and style and complexity of construction, it looks to have been an earlier piece of Livio Seguso's work, made around 1970-1975.

Measures 27cm high x 9.5 cm diameter base.

Weighs a heavy 2.1 kilo before packing.

Would make an important addition to any good COLLECTION of LIVIO SEGUSO or MURANO ART GLASS.
Equally, it would be a wonderful gift for a dachshund lover or as an whimsical, high quality figurine to add to a valued collection of DACHSHUND figures.
