On the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on August 4, 2023, the National Bank held a presentation of the new circulating commemorative coin "Air Defense - a reliable shield of Ukraine".

This coin continues the "Armed Forces of Ukraine" series and is dedicated to the exploits and heroism of air defense soldiers who selflessly and daily defend the skies of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coin depicts a Patriot launcher against a stylized target-detecting radar and the inscription above in a circle: AIR FORCE - RELIABLE SHIELD OF UKRAINE. The obverse of the coin is identical to the obverse of the 10 hryvnia circulation coin of the 2018 model, on it the denomination of the coin, the year of minting and the coat of arms of Ukraine are placed in the center in the frame of the Old Russian ornament.
