Extremely rare 1920's Brooklands circuit BARC elapsed time stop clock made by Philip Harris & Co. Ltd

Beautiful 1920's Brooklands circuit 'elapsed time stop clock', apparently once the personal timing clock of Ebby Ebblethwaite, the famous Brooklands Start / Timekeeper Official - however, apart from the label on the rear of the clock I cannot authenticate this further.

Alternatively, I think the clock could have been used in the 'Chronograph Villa' (or Timing 'hut') building situated at the corner of the same name on the Brooklands circuit in the 1920's (as shown in photo). At an 'educated' guess the clock could have been used to time individual cars for timed Handicap races, of which Brooklands ran many.

When I purchased the clock it wasn't working reliably, but a clock specialist in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham repaired and serviced the clockwork mechanism to full working order. A short film of it working (and further detail photos if required) can be supplied on request.

With Brooklands memorabilia now very difficult to find, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a lovely piece of nostalgia from one of the most famous and important circuits in the history of motor-sport.
