I removed the old paper backing which was very brittle and also removed the old nails, some of which were missing.  I installed flex tabs in their stead, so that you can easily insert your own art work.  This frame is probably around 60-years-old judging from the prints that were in them.  I left the prints in.

Some of the finish is coming off, which some think adds to the vintage look.
