The 1956 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by Fort Wayne Allen Dairy. They beat the Deming Loggers of Washington State 18-1 in a lopsided title game. It was a record fifth NBC championship for Fort Wayne and their manager John "Red" Braden.

Recently released Chicago Cubs catcher Clyde McCullough was named tournament MVP. McCullough suited up for the Alpine Cowboys just before the tournament began and they finished in third place.
