Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal, from a mid 19th Century Portuguese homestead.
Vintage Pocket Knife from Portugal, made by the Martins Palaçoulo Factory.
A wooden handle contains a blade as well as a 1/2 size three tine fork, a classic take on a HOBO Knife.
The handle is stamped PORTUGAL which leads me to believe it was intended as a momento for a visitor to Madeira Island.
Open, it measures 7 3/4 Inches long.
This had been used and is showing some wear commensurate with age and use. I would date this mid 1900s or earlier. The blade is a tad loose and there is a small rust spot on the blade in the area of the logo.
I have inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size.
