Spirituality/Meditation
A Modern Classic on Mindfulness and Living the Spiritual Life Today
W Then Jack Komfield returned from Asia in 1972, he wore the traditional saffron robes of a Buddhist monk. Kornfield had found in the forest monasteries of Thai- land and Burma that which so many of us seek: a way to achieve supreme awareness and serenity that is always available, regardless of external situations.
On A Path with Heart, Jack Kornfield teaches key principles of Buddhism's cherished "insight" tradition, with an eye to the spir- itual challenges unique to our times. Kornfield summons his experience as a monk, psychotherapist, and meditation teacher to craft an elegant approach for integrating modern life into a full spiritual practice. In the clear and friendly voice that has made him one of America's leading meditation teachers, Korn- field addresses central issues - including our bodies, emotions, relationships, spiritual teachers, and more-offering a complete vision for cultivating the skills we need now to see the precious- ness in all life. Complete with many special meditations and other practices, A Path with Heart points to the healing, compas sion, and freedom that arise only when we open deeply to the world around us.
