If you wish to repair your Laars / Jandy :Lite2 swimming pool heater then this part is important.

Once you have a pilot light burning as a constant then this Pilot Generator gets hot. It produces a small electrical value (between 200 and 350 millivolts). This current travels along the red and white wires to the main gas valve. Once this small electrical current is present the gas valve can now open the main burn and the unit will ignite.

Note: Check all electrical wiring as you may have a faulty connection spade, Check with a voltmeter the red and white wires from the pilot generator and see if you have a current.

Diagnosis : If you have a steady burning pilot light but the unit will not fire up then it is probably this part that needs replacing. I do state it is better to replace both the Thermocouple and Pilot Generator parts at the same time since you servicing your Laars Jandy Lite2,
