From the first steps of Modern Greece, the Evzones were select units of the Greek infantry. During the Greek-Italian War on the Albanian front they dominated the battles of Pindos. Their stormy attacks, accompanied by the shout "AERA", as a rule ended in the occupation of enemy positions.
