These are called tea towels or flour sacks.  

They are a little thinner than dish towels, but they can still be used like them.

 But are normally bought for decoration.

This is brand new measures approximately 19 inches across and is approx 14 inches down from the fold. 

On one side you have Christmas, when that is over you flip it to the other side for New Years. 

One towel, two holidays, less to store.
