A netsuke is a type of accessory.During the Edo period, when hanging an inro or a cigarette case around the waist, it was attached to the end of a string and passed through the obi to prevent the string from coming off. Many of them were made of materials such as wood, bamboo, bone, horn, metal, crystal, and ivory, and were decorated with small, detailed carvings of people, animals, equipment, etc., and they also developed as crafts. This book introduces a collection of animal designs among netsuke. The fine workmanship and various designs convey the elegance of Edo to this day. Above all, the animals are adorable, and it's a book that makes you happy just by looking at them.
