From the certificate of authenticity:

Crowley, Aleister (Signed). Letter. An autograph letter, Signed, from Aleister Crowley to 'Frieda' [Lady Harris: Frieda Harris].[January 13th, 1941]. [1941]. Written on both sides of a single sheet of 8 x 5 inch buff-colored notepaper. The letter is headed simply, "The Gardens" (almost certainly his lodging at 14 Lasell Gardens, Maidenhead) and "Jan 13" - ie Monday, January 13th, 1941. The letter begins and ends with the Thelemic greetings, is signed "F.".ly [Fraternally] Aleister" in cramped letters towards the bottom of the second page. It is entirely written in Crowley's hand, and his approx. 250 words in length. Much of the first page is devoted to Crowley bemoaning Harris' failure to pay heed to his instructions which has resulted in her sending him a cheque for 12 pounds which he is unable to cash. Despite his obvious chagrin, he is still keen for her to visit, and advises her of a Mrs. Bart, who rents out a very comfortable room for a shilling a night. where she could lodge economically. In a note up the left hand margin heasks. "Where is [Gerald] Yorke now? Is he actively employed in the Army? I want to know." In a further comment written upside-down at the head of the letter he reminds her of the correct capitalization of the words in the Thelemic greetings: "Love is the law, love under will. not Law. not Love. not Will." He also advises that he is in bed resting from an ailment, but has not felt unwell enough to call in his physician, Dr. Lodge. The letter is from the collection of former Crowley associate, Edward Noel Fitzgerald, (1908-1958), Frater Agape, a IX degree member of the O.T.O., having been given to him by Lady Harris after Crowley's death. Some light creasing and discoloration and a few pin-holes. Otherwise Very Good condition.
