Good condition.  This is a vintage Austrian button with a double head EAGLE  on the front.  Silver tone. Year on button dates at the year, 1848.  Writing on the button states;  FR Joseph I Viribus Unitis .  This SHANK button measures approximately 31mm, see pictures. These are hard to find and definitely a collectors button. You can see the shank style backing within the pictures and full measurements.  I really love this button and I am sure you will too!!
