Ukiyo-e were printed several times since Edo period, it is a print using the traditional method. It refers to the technique of creating multiple pictures by transferring or transcribing ink from a woodblock that is carved into japanese style paper.

Commentary: The color of this print are very bright, it has been preserved in a really good condition. The printed date doesn't seem to be written anywhere, although upon research is it seem to be from 1886.
Thought to be representing a Kabuki theater about Yaoya Oshichi.
Yaoya Oshichi (born 1668? - March 28, 1683 (April 24, 1683) was a Japanese woman who lived in the early Edo period.
She is the daughter of a greengrocer in Hongo, Edo, and is said to have committed an arson attack and was burned to death because she wanted to meet her lover. She became widely known when she was featured in Ihara Saikaku's "Five Amorous Women,'' and she became the main character of various elaborate works in literature, Kabuki, Bunraku, and other performing arts.
