Ukiyo-e were printed several times since Edo period, it is a print using the traditional method. It refers to the technique of creating multiple pictures by transferring or transcribing ink from a woodblock that is carved into japanese style paper.

Work name: 温故東の花第四篇 旧諸侯参勤御入府之図
Technique: Woodblock print
Commentary: Depicting the sankin kotoshi procession of Takachika Mori, the 13th lord of the Choshu domain (Hagi domain). It depicts a procession of 1,000 people passing through Takanawa, Edo. The Mori clan's family crest, "three stars in one letter,'' can be seen on the long sleeve and traveling box in the picture, and the scene of the throwing of spears can also be seen, making it a valuable pictorial document that conveys a scene of a feudal lord procession to this day. The author, Chikanobu Yoshu (real name: Hashimoto Naoyoshi), engaged in a wide range of drawing activities, including drawings of actors, as well as subjects such as the Seinan War, Meiji nobles, and the customs of the Edo period.
