This plate is from a 1892 or 1900 edition.
Artists and Engravers: The author Alfred Edmund Brehm (1829-1884), was a German zoologist, natural history illustrator and writer, the son of Christian Ludwig Brehm. Through the book titled 'Brehms Tierleben', his name became a synonym for popular zoological literature.

Subject: Plate: Suppenschildkrote (Green sea turtle). This plate shows four green turtles and their catching in what appears East Africa, Madagascar or Galapagos.
Condition: Fine. General age related toning and occasional light staining from handling as visible on image. Some dampstaining in margins, not efecting image.
