MK2 Ford Escort & RS2000 Instrument Lamp LED Upgrade Kit + Fitting Instructions
A set of cool white LED lamps to replace the filament lamps in MK2 Escort & RS2000 instruments.
The lamps are a brighter and clearer upgrade over the originals. All lamps are push-in fitting and require you to remove the instrument cluster to fit them. This isn't difficult and printed 'how-to' instructions are included with each set of lamps.
The set contains:
4 x large LED lamps to illuminate all of the following:
- Speedometer
- Fuel gauge
- Temperature gauge
- Oil pressure gauge (depending on model)
- Rev counter (depending on model)
4 x small LED lamps to illuminate the following:
- Right turn signal
- Left turn signal
- Main beam
- Oil pressure warning (depending on model)
NOTE:
- A replacement lamp for the red alternator charge (or ignition on) warning light is not included because swapping this for an LED lamp can cause the charge circuit on older vehicles to malfunction, and is therefore not recommended.
- The original Ford lamp holders can be fiddly to work with, particularly the row of small lamps. Sometimes the connections onto the flexible instrument circuit board aren't great, so please check and ensure all connections are good when you fit these lamps.
- All lamps are 100% tested before being sent out so you can be confident they will work. The usual cause of a lamp failing to light is the polarity is wrong. The positive (+12v) side of each lamp will be marked with either with a black stripe or a + symbol to aid fitting. Unlike the original filament lamps, these LED lamps are polarity sensitive, so if you find a lamp doesn't work, the first thing to try is to pull out the lamp holder, rotate 180 degrees and refit. The second most common cause is a poor connection at the lamp holder or between the lamp holder and circuit board.
