Silicone is the most frequently used non-invasive treatment in scar management and is used by Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists and Skin Care Specialists to help fade and repair unsightly scar tissue.

The silicone gel pad is suitable for scars resulting from surgery, accidents, burns, and other injuries. Providing a unique combination of transparency, flexibility and adhesiveness the silicone reduces hypertrophic scars and keloids, while the transparency offers minimal visibility when worn on exposed body parts.

The silicone sheet is thin, discreet and self-adhesive which makes the sheet comfortable and convenient to use under clothing. The sheet can be washed with mild soap and water, allowing it to be re-used.

Instructions

·      Wash hands before use

·      Gently clean the scar and surrounding tissue, rinse in clean warm water and thoroughly dry

·      Take out silicone gel sheet and cut to required size, covering scar and a small overlap over the surrounding skin

·      Remove release film from silicone gel sheet. Keep the film for placing back onto gel sheet when not in use

·      Apply Silicone gel sheet to scar without stretching.

·      When not in use, wash Silicone gel sheet daily with mild soap and rinse in clean warmwater.

The sheet can be used for 2-4 weeks.

Simple Precautions

Avoid if allergic to silicone rubber

If you have sensitive skin or could be allergic to silicone, carry out a small patch test initially on the scar in case of a skin reaction.
