Type : Handmade Bamboo basket for sticky rice steamer cooking
How to use : For sticky rice cooking in electronic rice cooker or in a general pot
Steps to make Sticky Rice
1.Soak the sticky rice about 2 cups in the water overnight (At lease 2-6 hrs depends on time you have)
2. When you ready to start cooking . Fill the water in a pot up to the level should not reach to the basket (have some space under the basket which the boiling water will not reach to the rice)
3. Put the soaked sticky rice into the basket softly ( do not press it in the basket , just like splash the rice because we need the steam get through all the rice seeds)
4.Then put the bamboo basket into pot of rice cooker or general pot.
3. Turn on the rice cooker as usual for about 20-25 minutes. The electric rice cooker will automatically switch off . For general pot , put the basket into the pot and cover with pot's lid (to keep the steam into the pot to cook rice) about 20-25 min as well.
Noted : The soft texture of sticky rice depends on time you soak the rice first. And if you use a short time to soak you need the longer time to cook sticky rice.
