Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal.
Antique surface mounted door lock, dating from the early 1900s, found in its original box, never used.
From the inventory of a hardware store on Madeira Island in Portugal that closed shop decades ago.
Still nestled in its original dusty tattered cardboard box that contains the lock, measuring 4 7/8ths by 4 1/4 inches, 1 inch thick.
The locking bracket, 4 inches top to bottom.
The original key measuring 4 1/2 inches long and a shield shaped metal escutcheon.
It has survived in good condition, no issues detected.
No mounting screws were found.
I have inserted a standard size playing card in the photos as a reference for size.
A good find well suited for a restoration project.
MUCH OBLIGED
