Lap Over Edge is one of Tiffany's most rarest and most desirable patterns. Designed by Charles Grosjean (who also designed Tiffany’s Chrysanthemum Flatware) in 1880, it is widely regarded as one of the the most creative American aesthetic movement flatware designs ever.

Tiffany & Co.’s “Lap Over Edge - Acid Etched & Engraved” were custom (made to order) sterling silver flatware service sets for the very rich and wealthy. Each piece of flatware adorned an acid etched or hand engraved aesthetic of various motifs depicting various images such as birds in flight, fish, butterflies, flowers, and fruits etc.
