Apochromatic Design
An apochromatic design is employed to minimize axial chromatic aberration of RGB, which comprise the three primary colors of light, to near zero.
High Performance & Compact
The newly designed optical system consists of 7 elements in 7 groups, 5 of which are made of anomalous partial-dispersion glass. Despite its high performance, the lens is compact, with an overall length of 40 mm (from the mount surface).
Design with nostalgia and functionality
The focus ring and aperture ring are made of all-metal, with a large finger ring and a knurled pattern that is precision-machined.
Manual Focusing for Reliable Focusing Operation
The use of an all-metal helicoid unit machined and adjusted to a high degree of precision and high-quality grease that produces moderate torque ensures smooth focusing operation. Subtle focusing adjustment is possible.
A Variety of Appearances to Choose From
As a tribute to the SLR interchangeable lenses of the 1960s (1965-1974), two types of rims are available: a silver rim, nicknamed Sakijiro by collectors, and a black rim, called Saki Guro.
Capable of shooting with a wide variety of bodies
The mount is Nikon Ai-S compatible with a built-in CPU, and in addition to the built-in CPU, it also has an Ai coupler. This makes it possible to use a wide variety of bodies, from film SLR cameras of yesteryear to the latest digital SLR cameras.
