Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States of America and Brazil. On the second Monday of October in Canada. Around the same part of the year in other places like Germany, Japan and so on. Some call it a Harvest Festival.
Pilgrim refers to the Separatist Puritans, who had fled religious persecution in England in the early 1600's aboard the Mayflower sailing ship to from the Plymouth Colony (Massachusetts) in the New World. From this event a Thanksgiving national & secular holiday in the United States was formed and a romanticized modern-traditional Pilgrim was born.
