This textile is a wonderful, Antique French toile bed cover dating 1790. ~

~The most charming scenes on this toile! This textile is a red French toile bed cover, dating 1800. This toile was printed in Normandy in the late 18th and early 19th century. ~ This is a wonderful, very large textile ~ . This textile is hand stitched and it is lightly hand quilted. This bed cover was made to fit a 4 poster bed and one end has the pocketed corners ( photograph 6) and the other made to fit the posters! ~*~ There are valanced sides to this textile , it is enormous!. The body and quilting are all 100% hand stitched and hand quilted. ~ So amazing to find intact. This textile is backed in a natural toned, linen and cotton mix fabric. ~ This textile is gorgeous, with so much amazing 18th century fabric. It would be possible to create 4 valances and a quilt from this textile. Wonderful ~ It would be stunning for any antique textile collection. ~*~ ( Toile B 77 )

MEASUREMENTS: I will measure this textile in sections as follows: the central panel ( for the bed top) measures 52 inches wide by 69 inches long ( not including the length of the valances for the top and bottom of the bed) The side valances are each 20 inches wide as are the top and bottom valances. This is an enormous textile ~ simply wonderful!!! ~

CONDITION: This stunning textile is in wonderful condition for its age, just lovely!~It is in as found, unwashed condition. There is gentle fading and a few small holes. There are some pale marks to be expected ~ more faded than the body ~ The body has some slight uneven fading, it is lovely! ~ Generally in fabulous condition for its age!!! ~ ~*~ ~ Ideal for any textile collection ~*~
