MULTIPLE PLASTICS CO.

MULTIPLE TOYMAKERS CO.
Multiple Products Corporation (commonly known as "MPC") was also called Multiple Toymakers. The company produced a large variety of toys (mostly made of plastic) over their years in business, including: playsets and figures (many fondly remember their figures that were nick-named "ring-hands", as they had small holes in their hands for which to hold accessories like guns, tools, etc.), dollhouse material, character toys, toy guns, vehicles, games, and more.

Multiple Products Corp. was not the only company with MPC initials. One that has caused some confusion for collectors was the Model Products Corporation. They made a range of plastic kit model cars. In 1970 they were bought by General Mills. The MPC model kits were marketed as part of CPG's Fundimensions Division. In 1969 Lionel reached an agreement with General Mills to begin making Lionel trains under license beginning in 1970. General Mills assigned the Lionel division to its subsidiary Model Products Corporation [MPC].
This auction is for one of MPC's miniature plastic airplanes from the 1960's..
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a long-range fighter aircraft operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service (IJNAS) from 1940 to 1945. When it was introduced early in World War II, the Zero was considered the most capable carrier-based fighter in the world, combining excellent maneuverability and very long range. In early combat operations, the Zero gained a legendary reputation as a dogfighter, achieving the outstanding kill ratio of 12 to 1, but by mid-1942 a combination of new tactics and the introduction of better equipment enabled the Allied pilots to engage the Zero on more equal terms.
The A6M is universally known as the Zero from its Japanese Navy type designation, Type 0 Carrier Fighter, taken from the last digit of the Imperial year 2600 (1940), when it entered service. In Japan it was unofficially referred to as both Rei-sen and Zero-sen; Japanese pilots most commonly called it, Zero-sen.

Although the Mitsubishi A6M was outdated by 1944, it was never totally supplanted by the newer Japanese aircraft types. During the final years of the War in the Pacific, the Zero was used in kamikaze operations. In the course of the war, more Zeros were built than any other Japanese aircraft.
Condition: “MPC was notorious for its quality control. Many of their pieces came out without propellers, untrimmed flashing or, incomplete or missing tail rudders. The planes you receive will have the major parts intact. There may be slight color differences.

Mechanical device disclaimer: Every mechanical device has a certain life span. The day it leaves the factory, it becomes one day closer to its end date. When I find these devices, I plug them in, wind them up or put in a battery. If they buzz, whirr or seem like they're doing what they are supposed to be doing, I keep them for auction. At that point in time, I have NO IDEA of how old or how much use they have incurred. They may last a lifetime or fail the next time they are turned on. Therefore, I sell these as "Decorative or Ornamental purposes" only, not functional. Which may be referred to as "AS IS".
Note: On some items, UPC symbols may have been removed for rebate purposes.
