Description: This delicate print originates from a very scarse series of horse prints: 'Abbildungen vorzüglicher Pferde-Rassen', by Emil Volkers, made c. 1880. Some of these prints were also used for an even scarser: 'Sport, Illustrierte Blätter für Reiter und Pferdefreunde', published by Schickhardt & Ebner, Stuttgart.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Emil Volkers' after an anonymous artist. Emil Volkers (1831-1905): German painter, lithographer. He is known for his landscape and animal scenes. For a time he worked for the Prince of Romania in Bucharest, but most of his career was spend in Düsseldorf.

Condition: Very good. Occasional light foxing. Small crease in right top. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
