Plaquette en bronze, la Mise au Tombeau, XXe siècle ♦ Bronze plaquette, the Entombment of Christ, 20th century

Cette plaquette dépeint la mise au tombeau du Christ: étendu au sol, le Christ est soutenu par Joseph d'Arimathie, et est entouré de la Vierge, de Marie Madeleine et d'une autre Sainte Femme. Dans le fond l'entrée du tombeau apparait creusé dans le rocher, avec sa porte de pierre à côté. Les pieds du Christ sont recouverts par son linceul, et sa couronne d'épines est posée au sol.

Excellent état, patine brune (plus claire sur les bords, la plaquette devait se trouver dans un cadre à l'origine). Présence d'une signature difficile à lire dans le coin inférieur droit.

This plaquette depicts the entombment of Christ: lying on the ground, Christ is supported by Joseph of Arimathea and surrounded by the Virgin Mary, Maria Magdalena and another Holy Woman. In the background, entry of the grave appears dug in the rock, with its stone door beside. Feet of Christ are covered by his shroud, and his crown of thorns is on the ground.

Excellent condition, brown patina (lighter on the edges, this plaquette originally was probably in a frame). Hard to read signature in lower right corner.
