For sale is a working, sturdy marine binnacle compass, crafted by renowned maker of nautical instruments, Henry Browne & Sons, UK.
The dome shaped, floating compass sits in a very heavy metal housing to be screwed down on board, a removable two-part Aluminum hood protects the - probably Epoxy or Plexiglass - dome. For a bit of history: The boat it once lived on got destroyed in Hurricane Katrina, but the compass made it through the storm with just exterior dings, paint loss and a big and two small scuffs on one side of the still very clear compass dome. This certainly speaks to the quality of Sestrel instruments, since the compass is in perfect working order.
